March 2025
The Annual BFMS Chamber Ensemble Concert was a wonderful showcase of musical talent, featuring 5th- to 8th-grade students performing in duets, trios, and small ensembles. Held in March, the concert highlighted a variety of string, wind, and percussion performances, allowing students to demonstrate their artistry and collaboration in an intimate setting.
Chamber music provides a unique opportunity for young musicians to develop independence and teamwork, and this year’s performances were a testament to their dedication and hard work. Congratulations to all the students and music educators who made this event a success!

Teaneck Creek Conservancy received a grant from Bergen County to involve students in the renovation of an abandoned welded steel sculpture currently in the TCC called "The Compass/Sundial" (it is an armillary style sundial that points to the North). Through collaboration with art students from Teaneck High School and professional metalsmith Julius Minervini of Artistic Metal Works, the sculpture was repurposed with a new student driven design. The project is called “Redirection” and the eco-art installation at Teaneck Creek Conservancy provided a positive experience for art students in our community that will translate into a lifelong cherished memory. The project will not only bring joy and beauty to Teaneck Creek Park, Overpeck Area 1, but also help to foster a sense of self-expression and self-worth.

Sylvana Dipre Sundial Description:
The theme of my design is nature and its importance to both humanity and mother earth. The constant use of vibrant colors and animals (frog and butterfly). Standing at the core of the sun dial represents how animals play a significant role in our environment and how we must cherish that. The leaping frog upholds the metal pole, surrounded by vines and flowers. The gold rim helps bring out the bright flowers on the sundial. The growth of nature on a man-made stem illustrates how humanity must care for and work alongside mother nature as it has given us such beauty.
