•  Plan to arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled audition time ( so you have time to prepare and in case we are running ahead of schedule).

• Wait outside the music room until the music teacher in your building comes out and bring you into the room. 

• Take a breath and relax!  Remember that you're sharing a part of you that you enjoy!

When do the audition sign ups close?

• As long as there is a time slot to select in the Google Form (above), there is space for you to audition and you can sign up.  If there are no more time slots for the date you want, please e-mail me at lrondael@teaneckschools.org and we find another arrangement.

Do I have to know how to read music to join?

• It is an advantage, but it is not required. We will learn how to do this in class, but having experience reading music helps.

Do I have to have prior experience in Chorus?

• No, you don't.  We welcome singers of all levels and abilities.  Mostly, we welcome all students who just want to have fun making music with other people! 

Can I still audition if I do not reserve a spot?

• Yes. If you come to the auditions without a reserved time slot, I will still hear you, but you will be seen on a first come, first served basis. 

What is the Chorus experience like during COVID 2021?  What will it be like next year?

• The Chorus experience was limited because we could not be in the same room together.  However, as the District reopened, we found creative alternative solutions for excellent music making.  We cannot be contained!   To see examples of our work, please visit the THS presents... page. 

What kind of performance opportunities are there during the year?

• The Winter and Spring Concerts are staples every year, along with the Teaneck High School Choral Festival, which is an event where we host middle school students to meet and share our work together.   Moreover, we try to perform as much as we can, including singing for town functions and other community events.

What if singing is not really my thing?

• You are always welcome to try us out to see if you like it.  There are also numerous opportunities to participate in the music program at Teaneck High School outside of The Choruses, including band and orchestra, or the music theory class that Ms. Rondael teaches to help you learn how to read music.

Can I audition for the choruses after 9th grade?

• Yes, absolutely!  Ms. Rondael generally holds open auditions around February during the recruitment season.  If you are a current Teaneck High School Student, please follow this link.
