Paulette Szalay
Paulette Szalay has been a middle school science teacher for the past 21 years, proudly teaching in Teaneck for the past 11 years.
As a Foundation Trainer for the past 6 years, Ms. Szalay has assisted new teachers to expand their knowledge in the classroom leading to a successful school year.
Ms. Szalay earned a bachelor’s degree from Bloomfield College, and then continued her post graduate education by receiving two master’s degrees in Education Administration and Curriculum and Instruction.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Szalay is also a trained Executive Function Coach to help students and adults organize, prioritize, time manage, plan and self-regulate.
Jemara Blount
Jemara Blount, a proud graduate of Teaneck Public Schools, currently serves as the Elementary District ELA Instructional Coach. A certified educator in New Jersey, she has dedicated the past 15 years to teaching within the Teaneck Public School District.
Ms. Blount earned her bachelor’s degree from Hampton University and later pursued a Master of Arts in Teaching at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). Committed to ongoing professional growth, she furthered her education at FDU by earning certifications as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities and as an Orton-Gillingham teacher trainer.
In addition to her work in the district, she also serves as an adjunct professor at FDU, where she trains educators in the implementation of structured literacy approaches, with a particular focus on supporting struggling readers.
