understanding the consequences of not managing stress and anxiety; and
brainstorming the importance or benefits of managing stress and anxiety
Ana looked around and saw other kids having fun during break time.
Some were jumping rope, others were painting pictures, and some were reading books. One boy was playing guitar, making music.
"Look at everyone having fun!" Ana said.
Mei Ling nodded and explained, "During break time, we do things we like. It helps us feel happy and relaxed, creating positivity in ourselves.”
❓❔ What do you think are some of the other consequences of not managing stress and anxiety?
Ana smiled and walked with Mei Ling. They saw their class teacher, Mr. Chang, sitting alone by the small fish pond.
"What are you doing, Mr Chang?" asked Ana. He invited Ana and Mei Ling to sit together with him.
Mr Chang said, "There are a lot of ways to calm your mind and find peace - meditation, breathing practice, calming exercises. For me, meditation works best."
Mr. Chang continued, “Meditation is like taking a calm break for our minds and bodies. We sit quietly, close our eyes, and breathe deeply, like smelling a flower. It helps us feel peaceful and happy inside."
Now, why don't you can try calming down at your own pace, using this video below.

“So we could improve our mood and self-esteem?” asked Mei Ling.
“Correct! What else?” Mr Chang asked further.
“I think…
we could reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression
if we improve our mood,” said Ana.
“Oh,
then it’s easier for us to feel more in control of our lives
if we don’t feel so negative all the time!” Mei Ling chimed in.
“You are both correct!
But do you know that managing stress and anxiety
could help us better handle future challenges and
bounce back from tough situations?” ask Mr. Chang
Mr Chang continued, “And when we can bounce back from tough situations, that’s what we call being resilient!
We are able to keep a positive attitude and move forward even when things don't go as planned."
Ana smiled, "So, being resilient means not letting little bumps in the road ruin our day.
Instead, we can stay strong and find reasons to smile and move on, no matter what!"
