Our Philosophy of Evaluation:
The purpose of evaluation in the Master’s Program is to understand how well each Fellow is supporting student learning and growth. 80% of what we assess is focused on what Fellows are doing to help children learn. This includes things like how well lessons are planned, taught, and reflected on. We also assess teacher inputs, but our main focus is on whether students are learning.
Assessments are not linear and sequenced course by course. They are spread out over time based on what you need to do first in your classrooms and what comes next. This sequence will allow you to display not just what you know, but how you apply that knowledge in real time.
On the right, you will find the assessment calendar, and below, detailed descriptions of each evaluation. You will be required to maintain a digital portfolio where assignments are uploaded according to the calendar. Submissions must be timely, original, and well-presented.
Your work will be assessed by a combination of your Program Manager and members of the Training Team. Evaluators will rotate to maintain fairness and consistency across the program.
Marks will be cut for the following:
Plagiarism
Overuse of AI tools
Submitting work late
Submitting work that is poorly presented
We believe that good teaching leads to strong student outcomes. Our assessments are designed to reflect that belief.
