Leaundra Clay (ENC '14)
My name is Leaundra Clay, and I am honored to serve as the Director of Regional Impact for this vibrant region. My journey with Teach For America began in 2014 as part of the Eastern North Carolina Corps. 10 years later, I'm still here in Eastern North Carolina. Therefore, I think it's safe to say that North Carolina is where I call home!
During my time in Duplin County, I not only taught but also took on the role of assistant principal, witnessing firsthand the transformative power of education in the lives of our students. I was awarded the opportunity to further my education at North Carolina State University through the North Carolina Leadership Academy (NELA), focusing on rural school administration and leadership. This additional learning experience has equipped me with invaluable insights into the complexities of educational leadership and strengthened my resolve to ensure that every student has access to a superior education. Ultimately, dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline.
My commitment to educational equity has only deepened as I have held multiple roles while working for Teach For America North Carolina. Having been a part of the Teach For America family since 2019, initially as a coach and now in my current role. I am thrilled to continue supporting this esteemed alumni community. Our shared dedication to providing an excellent education to all students is the driving force behind the initiatives we are developing to strengthen our impact through ongoing leadership development.
Looking forward to connecting with each of you soon!
