Key Components of Inspiring Connections
Collaborate
Students work in teams to make sense of mathematical situations and understand various ways to approach a situation.
Engage
Inspiring connections uses multiple "venues" to engage students in mathematics. Students will use "VNPS - Vertical NonPermanent Surfaces", eBooks, online modules/applications, work with manipulatives/tools, and teamwork to show thinking and make sense of new ideas. The program is a blend of print and a digital eBook available via Classlink.
Practice
Students will engage in Reflection and Practice problems each day. These problems are similar to the "Math Boxes" that they completed in elementary school. Some of the problems are connected to the learning goa of the day and others are review material for the essential standards in 6th grade - ensuring that students have a strong foundation to engage in the new content.
