My name is Mike Rashid, and this is my second year teaching at Palmyra Area School District. Before moving to Palmyra, I worked in Mechanicsburg Area School District. I taught fourth grade for five years and served as the elementary math instructional coach for the last three years. Prior to teaching I was a television news videographer.
I have an undergraduate degree in communications from Kutztown University. After working at television stations in Scranton, Dover (DE), Salisbury (MD), and Harrisburg, I worked at the Pennsylvania House of Representatives while I got my elementary teaching certification from Temple University.
When I'm not at school I love spending time and traveling with my wife, Lisa, my ten-year-old daughter, Anna (a fifth grader this year at Forge Road), and my four-year-old labradoodle, Maxwell. I also love sports (huge Washington Redskins fan), reading, being outside, and especially running.

Maxwell loves to read!
Maxwell also loves dressing up like pirates for Halloween!
