I live in Palmyra with my husband, Eric, our sons, Ronan and Finley, and our two cats, Lexi and Lilly. We love our community, and it's an absolute privilege to have the opportunity to serve here as a teacher!
Here's a little background information on how my life's path has lead me to Lingle. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Penn State in 2003. (We Are!) Following graduation, I was hired to teach first grade in the Cumberland Valley School District. After 1 year in Cumberland Valley I moved to Illinois for my husband's job. I spent 5 years teaching first grade in Lombard, IL, and loved it! While teaching in Illinois, I attended Concordia University and earned my Masters degree in Reading Instruction. In 2009, when we were expecting our first son (Ronan), an opportunity developed with my husband's employment, which allowed us to move back to Pennsylvania, closer to our family and our roots! I then spent the next 8 years as a stay-at-home mom, raising our two sweet boys. When Finley was getting ready to begin 1st grade in 2017, I made the decision to step back into the classroom as a substitute teacher for Palmyra and Milton Hershey. I loved subbing! I was able to meet so many students and teachers, get glimpses into awesome classrooms, and maintain a level of flexibility with my schedule. Eventually, however, what was meant to be a 2-3 days a week job, became a full-time job. I couldn't stay away! I quickly began picking up every day that I could because I loved it so much. By the end of the school year I knew I wanted my own classroom, my own students to bond with and impact on a larger scale than subbing would allow, and I began the application process. And here I am! :) I was hired as a third grade teacher at Lingle in 2018. My return to the classroom is a dream come true. Thank you in advance for sharing your children with me! It's going to be a great year!
