This course offers an introduction to the fundamentals of photography, digital media, and computer graphics by creating visual images through the formulation of concept, composition, and execution.

The framework for this course will be similar to that of Photography and Media Arts but with increased expectations in terms of: development of technique, craftsmanship and intrinsic motivation as students work towards more sophisticated concepts and techniques.

Advanced Photography and Media Arts (541211 541212)

Prerequisite:  Fundamentals of Art and Design, Photography and Media Arts

This course offers students the opportunity to expand upon the basic techniques developed in Photography and Media Arts by enhancing their skills through the production of more sophisticated forms. This course will incorporate the elements and principles of design as well as the historical origins and contemporary practices.

Advanced Photography and Media Arts Studio (541311 541312)

(Grade 12)

Prerequisites:  Fundamentals of Art and Design, Photography and Media Arts, Advanced Photography and Media Arts 

This studio course is designed to facilitate the opportunity for exploration and/or development of a portfolio through an in-depth study of a field of interest. Students will work on assigned and teacher-approved independent projects by using inquiry, investigation, experimentation, and application.
