The United State Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corp (JROTC) is designed to teach high school students the values of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling in them self-esteem, teamwork, self-discipline, confidence, and pride in a job well done, and it offers each student challenges and opportunities to:
Sharpen their communication skills
Promote and encourage citizenship through participation in community service projects
Develop their leadership potential
Strengthen their self-esteem
Improve incentive to live drug-free
Promote graduation from high-school and develop a solid foundation for career development
Some employers spend millions of dollars training their employees to excel in many of these same skills and attitudes. By taking JROTC, cadets have an advantage over thousands of other young people who are seeking their place in the world.
To create an environment devoted to the cadet's personal growth, both as a citizen and as a leader that will enable them to become a better citizen.
The mission of Green B. Trimble Technical High School JROTC Program is to produce responsible citizens and creative, complex thinkers by encouraging each cadet to participate in numerous JROTC activities that educate the whole child and help him/her meet life's challenges.
The JROTC program at G.B. Trimble Technical HS has a long and proud tradition. JROTC has been at Trimble Tech since the program was founded in 1916. Even before the JROTC concept was introduced to high schools nationwide. Trimble Tech had a similar program originating as early as 1914.
