Speech-Language Pathologist
My name is Laura Obuchowski and this is my Google Site. If you're here, it's likely that I am your student's Speech-Language Pathologist at school. I received my B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Abilene Christian University in 2014 and my M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Christian University in 2016. The 2025-2026 school year is my 8th school year with Fort Worth ISD, and I'm beginning my 10th year in practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist. I provide services at Boulevard Heights School, the Transition Center, and at Amon Carter-Riverside High School. I am also on the districtwide Assistive Technology Team.
While my scope of practice is the same as any licensed and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist, my areas of deep clinical interest include social communication, trauma-informed and Neurodiversity-affirming practice, interoception communication, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) assessment and implementation, parent and caregiver education, language and literacy development in complex communicators, and interprofessional practice.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteering at my daughter's school, serving with multiple ministries through my church, swimming, writing, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, and listening to music.
I firmly believe I have the best job in the world as an SLP! It is truly an honor to be part of your student's educational team and I appreciate your partnership.
