In Theatre Arts, actors will use the Voice, Mind, and Body to tell stories and create characters. Theatre arts develop cognitive functioning and increase student academic achievement, higher-order thinking, communication, and collaboration skills, making the fine arts applicable to college readiness, career opportunities, workplace environments, social skills, and everyday life.
Rules
Respect your Instructor, your peers, and yourself.
Be on time, every time.
Do Not talk while the instructor is talking
Check with the Instructor before eating or drinking, especially while on camera! No Eating In-Person due to Safety.
Turn off all electronic devices (besides your Chromebook) and other distractions
Discipline Plan
1st Offense- Student/Teacher Conference (We will have a conversation about the behavior in private, so I can see how I can support you in making better decisions)
2nd Offense- Call to Parent (I will discuss the behavior with your parent to see what strategies we can use to make you successful)
3rd Offense- Teacher/Parent Conference (I will meet with your parents via Zoom or In-Person to see what we can do together to support you)
Required Materials

Grade Distribution:
Audience Etiquette: 30%. Following the rules of good audience behavior (No talking during performance, not causing distractions, Actively listening).
Performance: 20%. Any performances in class, submitted via video, or equivalent Tests and Projects.
Daily Work: 50%. Quizzes, Worksheets, and participation in exercises like warmups.
Make Up Work: Make Up work will be issued according to the Rosemont School Handbook. It is the responsibility of the student to request it from the instructor.
Tutoring: Please arrange a time with the instructor during office hours posted on my Google Site.
Curriculum
There will be at least one PERFORMANCE grade every week. Students will also WRITE their own scenes and monologues and perform them. The remainder of the assignments will reflect topics such as technical theatre or theatre history.
