My name is Deborah Sims and I am the Art Teacher at Luella Merrett Elementary. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and a minor in photography. Many years later after working in advertising and graphic design I went back to school to obtain my Educator Certification in All Level, Art K-12. I love teaching elementary art and and watching the students knowledge and creativity grow over the years. I have been at Luella Merrett for 18 years. When I'm creating my own art my favorites are fused glass, clay and photography. My husband and I will celebrate 40 years of marriage this November. We have three grown children. Jordan, who is engaged to be married this November plus a younger brother and sister, Julia and Jason who are twins.
