Principal Valdez
Principal Dr. Ruenna Valdez brings 20 years of educational experience to her role as the new Principal of South Hills High School, with a strong background in instructional leadership and student support. This year marks her first in Fort Worth ISD, following a distinguished career in El Paso ISD.
She began her leadership journey as an assistant principal, serving in the role for a total of 10 years, where she developed expertise in campus operations, student achievement, and building positive school culture. Throughout her time in El Paso ISD, she was known for her commitment to supporting both students and staff while driving continuous improvement.
Principal Dr. Ruenna Valdez earned her bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University and went on to complete both her master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of Texas at El Paso. Her academic background complements her practical experience, equipping her with a strong foundation in educational leadership and policy.
As she steps into her new role at South Hills High School, she is committed to fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and opportunity for all students, while building strong connections with the school community.
