According to College Board, AP Classes help you:
Earn College Credit and Placement - Your AP Score could earn you college credits before you even set foot on campus. In fact, most AP students who enroll in four-year colleges start school with some credit!
Save Money and Time - Earning credit or placement can open up time on your schedule or even let you graduate early!
Stand Out to Colleges - "AP" on your high school transcript shows colleges you're motivated to succeed, and taking the exam demonstrates your commitment to tackle and complete college-level work.
Keep your Options Open - Earning college credit with AP can give you the flexibility to change majors, pursue a second degree, study abroad, or seek internships!
We currently offer 31 different AP classes at Paschal. Students can enroll in AP classes with their counselor, and then choose if they want to take the AP Exam by October 4th, 2023. In May, AP students will have the option to take the AP Exam for the AP Classes they are enrolled in. If they score a 3, 4, or 5 on their AP Exam, students may earn college credit!

College Board Accounts:
All AP students at Paschal need to register for a College Board account when they begin their first AP class. The College Board account you create will be used throughout your entire high school career. It will even transfer with you when you leave Paschal.
It is important that you DO NOT create a second account!
It is also important that you write down your username and password so you can easily reference it later on!
If you're having trouble with your account, visit https://support.collegeboard.org/help-center/account-help
Joining AP Classroom:
Once you've created an account, you need to join AP Classroom with the join code your teacher gives to you. This is super important because this is where you register for your AP Exams! To do this...
Log in to College Board. Find your Dashboard. Then, click into MyAP Classroom.
Click Join a Course or Exam and enter your Join Code. You will need to get the join code from your AP teacher!
Registering for AP Exams:
After you've joined the AP Classroom via College Board for your AP class, be sure register for your AP Exams. This means you must indicate whether or not you want to take the AP Exam. AP Exam Decisions are due by October 4th in AP Classroom!
If you are not registered in an AP class, you will not be able to order a test. The school cannot order exams on your behalf.
If you order a test and then decide not to take the test, you may be charged a $40 fee from College Board. And, if you don't order a test and decide later you really do want to order a test, it will cost you $40. Late tests cannot be ordered after March 13th.
To register for your AP Exams, or to double check that you are registered, see the linked slideshow or the video from College Board below!
The 2024 AP Exams will be administered in schools over two weeks in May: May 6-10 and May 13-17th. The schedule is posted below.
