I have worked at Carter-Riverside High School for 17 years, and this is my fifth year as a Post-Secondary Success Specialist. I enjoy working with students to find a successful trajectory of courses through high school and planning for their success beyond it. I am also a Carter alumni... Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle!

Over the years, I have been an English teacher to 7th, 8th, and 9th graders, an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders, and an ESL Specialist and Academic Language Specialist at elementary, middle, and high schools in Fort Worth ISD.
I graduated in 1995 from Mississippi State University with a B.A. in English and in 1999 from University of Alabama at Birmingham with an M.A. in Education. I studied at the University of Memphis to receive my ESL certification, and I completed my counseling certification through the Region 10 Educational Service Center in Richardson, Texas. I strongly believe in education and consider myself a lifelong learner.
I enjoy reading, writing, painting, and doing puzzles, and I love going for long walks and hikes, both by myself and with my family. My dream is to see all of the National Parks in the United States, and I am about halfway there.
