Individual counseling is available to all students. Our student support staff proactively reviews each student's placement and collaborates with them to develop a personalized plan for academic and personal success. Additionally, we are happy to provide referrals to external counseling resources for students and their families upon request.

What is a Reset?
A reset is an opportunity to pause and calm an overloaded nervous system. At Metro, we offer resets to students who are experiencing emotional dysregulation, which may manifest as impulsive or disruptive behavior, withdrawal, avoidance, crying, or other emotional outbursts.
Teachers may request a reset for students who demonstrate the behaviors mentioned above. During a reset, students will meet with a member of our student support team to engage in guided activities or discussions designed to help them regulate their emotions and return to a state of readiness for learning.
Our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program features whole-group lessons designed to foster emotional regulation, healthy peer relationships, and respectful conduct.
We also address critical topics including drug and alcohol awareness, cyberbullying, and general bullying prevention. Please note that specific lessons—such as those covering suicide prevention, human trafficking, and dating violence—require explicit parental opt-in.
