At Metro Opportunity, students in grades 6-12 receive instruction in core subjects, including Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reading/Language Arts, as well as PE, SEL, and web-based electives. Please note that we do not offer FWISD campus-based CTE, AP, OnRamps, or TCC-based Dual Credit courses. Students enrolled in CTE and AP courses will continue to receive assignments directly from their home campus teachers.
Students in OnRamps courses will be withdrawn from the course and will be enrolled in the on-level course until they return to their home campus.
Students enrolled in Dual Credit courses may continue their coursework only if a FWISD campus-based teacher teaches the class; students enrolled in TCC-based Dual Credit courses will be withdrawn upon placement at our site.
Consistent daily attendance is mandatory at Metro Opportunity, as all absences will be reflected in your permanent records and follow you to your next school. Attending class every day is essential to completing your assigned placement and staying aligned with academic success.
Merit Days:
Students may reduce their assigned placement duration by earning one merit day for every five consecutive days of perfect attendance, provided they also maintain full compliance with the dress code and have no disciplinary issues or suspensions.
SARTS Meetings:
To address excessive absenteeism, SARTS meetings are held every six weeks. Please ensure you provide official documentation for all absences related to illness, court appearances, or medical appointments.
