This site looks like Google but it is a kid friendly version of it. It allows students to be able to research information without the worry of going to sites that are inappropriate or that have erroneous information. No sign-in required.
This site uses kid-friendly language to explore a various topics that are of interest to students. Articles are generated based on student questions. Also, audio is paired with most. No sign-in required.
This site is powered by Google. It is a search engine that allows students to search the open web with relative safety. Keep in in mind that this will take them to sites that do not offer supports such as leveled readings, accessible language, or interpretations. It is a great site to get students started on learning how to independently research. No sign-in required.
This is a collection of open-source databases that give free peer-reviewed resources for kids of all ages. There are databases that have articles that can be read aloud, highlighted, and annotated. These resources are also available in various languages (translations.)
