Fort Worth ISD Battle of the Books is a competition that inspires students to love reading. Participants develop and foster relationships through collaboration and teamwork. 

• In the annual District level competition, teams of five students per grade level compete with grade level teams from other campuses. 

• Each team has read the same list of award-winning books with a variety of genres. 

• Students prepare during the school year by creating questions as they read the books and quiz their fellow teammates. 

• This competition is very much student-led as students read and prepare outside of the classroom. 

• Most campuses hold campus level competitions to determine which students will advance to the District level competition.
