Tameka Long, MSSC

School Counselor

Greetings! I am Tameka Long and I have the pleasure of being the school counselor at Como Montessori School K-8. I was born & raised in Dallas, Texas, but I have spent my entire career in Fort Worth ISD. This is my 22nd year in education. I was an elementary teacher on the East side of Fort Worth for 16 years before becoming a school counselor. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of North Texas and later received my Masters Degree in School Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University.

My husband & I have two adult daughters & our son is in middle school. I am a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

A major part of my role as a school counselor is to be an advocate for students & to work in close collaboration with all stakeholders to meet students’ social emotional, academic and career development needs. Ultimately, preparing them for college, career, and community leadership.

Please feel free to contact me for any concerns during our school hours at (817) 815-7215 or via email at tameka.long@fwisd.org.

Sandra Orta (hablo español), LMSW

Hello, my name is Sandra Orta! I'm a Fort Worth native and a Licensed Social Worker in the State of Texas. I received my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas Wesleyan University and a Master of Social Work from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

My experience ranges from providing therapy to adults healing from trauma to working with children and adolescents with their social and emotional needs in the school setting. I take pride in providing services to English and Spanish speaking families.

My goal is to empower and aid students in developing critical reasoning skills, healthy coping skills, and effective communication and problem-solving.

In my spare time, I like to try new restaurants and travel!

Allyiah Daniels, LMSW

Case Manager

Hello! My name is Allyiah Daniels and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I am proudly employed as the case manager for Como Montessori School and work with a specialized caseload of elementary aged students. I was born and raised in a small town in East Texas (that I go back to visit often). I attended the University of North Texas for my bachelor’s degree and obtained my master’s from Tarleton State University. I spent most of my career working with families experiencing domestic violence, but also have experience working with youth, those experiencing homelessness, as well as people struggling with their mental health. My philosophy is you must meet people where they are at, not where you expect them to be.

I am here to help your child be successful, but I am also here to help you and your family. Please reach out to you have any questions, concerns or needs (emotional, financial, food, shelter, ect.).
