FWISD Student Chromebooks Dos and Don’ts

Dos

  • Keep your Chromebook in a safe place when not in use (away from your younger siblings too).

  • Keep all food, drinks, pencils, pens, etc. away from the Chromebook.

  • Wash your hands before using the Chromebook.

  • Use secure passwords (follow FWISD guidelines).

  • Charge your Chromebook each evening so you are prepared for class.

  • Put your Chromebook in its carry bag when not in use.

  • Walk slowly and carefully with both hands when carrying the device out of its case.

  • Sign out and power off the Chromebook at least once a day to receive updates.

  • Let your teacher know immediately if your Chromebook gets broken, lost, or stolen.

Don’ts

  • Don’t let other people borrow your Chromebook.

  • Never click on a link from someone you don't know.

  • Don’t store your Chromebook in extreme temperatures—either hot or cold. Do not leave your Chromebook in a vehicle, especially during extremely hot or cold temperatures.

  • Don’t take the Chromebook apart or remove the keys; you will be charged for damages if you do this.

  • Don’t walk with the laptop lid open. This puts pressure on the LCD screen, which is very sensitive.
