Marilyn Roberts has been working in FWISD for 21 years. She began her career in the Adolescent Pregnancy Services Department. She has worked for the past 17 years in Special Education as a Resource and Inclusion teacher and for the last 7 years as a Curriculum Specialist. Ms. Roberts is a proud graduate of Prairie View A and M University, where she received her Master’s in Educational Administration. Her commitment lies in ensuring that all students, especially those most marginalized and disproportionately over-represented in Special Education, are given access to high-quality, rigorous instruction and ensuring that teachers are provided professional development to support their understanding of culturally responsive pedagogy and its’ impact on student success.
Carmen Franco has been working in Fort Worth ISD for 10 years. She began her career in Adapted Physical Education in 2011, where she advocated for the inclusion of ALL students in the PE setting. She carried her passion for inclusion into the classroom when she was hired as a Curriculum Specialist in 2020. Carmen graduated from Texas Woman’s University with her master's degree in Kinesiology and received her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas. Carmen is committed to supporting Special Education teachers as they strive to provide students with high-quality, rigorous instruction.
