High School Curriculum Overview:
The high school lessons provide structured activities and worksheets to guide students' exploration and understanding of different cultures represented in the gardens. They can be used independently or as a part of a unit, exploring topics like immigration, cultural history, and our shared humanity. Their broad reach makes them appropriate for a variety of courses. One arts-based lesson invites students to research a historical figure from the gardens, then utilize digital tools and props to create a visual representation of that person’s life and accomplishments. All the lessons aim to help students understand how communities memorialize themselves, understand different cultures and promote peace through mutual understanding. The materials also contain suggested discussion questions and reproducible worksheets for teachers to use with their students.
