WHAT/WHY: Terry Fox Run to support and raise funds for cancer research.
WHEN: Thurs. September 28th, 2023 (10:05am-12:05pm) -Assembly day schedule during Period 2.
WHERE: In our community neighbourhood (map route will be updated)
WHO: All students at York Mills are encouraged to participate (Gr. 12 Fitness & Business Leadership Classes, along with York Mills Athletic Council will be organizing this event)
HOW: Students are advised to wear comfortable shoes and athletic attire for the event (dress appropriately for weather conditions).
PERMISSION TO PARTICIPATE: Parents/guardians must fill out the 511 J Form, Submit a Donation, and complete the Google Form found on the YM Terry Fox 2023 Google Classroom

GOAL FOR FUNDS RAISED: $2400 as a school - the cut off date for donations is on Thurs. September 28th (instructions on how to raise funds are below)
HOW TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THIS EVENT
All students are encouraged to raise money for this worthy cause. Every little bit counts :)
1) Students can get donations directly to our school account (share this link with friends and family): YM Terry Fox Donations
2) Students can also donate to their Period 1 Day 1 Class account under York Mills C.I. to keep track of how much money they raised as a class. The individual amount will go towards our entire school fundraising.

TERRY FOX ROUTE
York Mills Athletic Council members will be spread out strategically along the route situated at stop signs and road crossings.
Participating students are advised to stay on the sidewalk and be mindful of local traffic.
The route is approximately ~2.5km in total (~30 mins to walk)
