Description: Music Council hosts many music-related events throughout the year and works diligently to create unforgettable moments for our school community. From our annual Talent Show to Music Night, Music Council knows how to set the stage on fire. From Valentine’s Day Candy Grams, lunchtime performances, and many other school-wide initiatives, Music Council plays an important role in YM’s musical community. Thanks to the dedication of our members and our staff advisor, our school is filled with the joy of music as we work towards making every note count. Music Council looks forward to continuing to create more unforgettable memories!

Description: Technology Council is an initiative to increase student awareness and knowledge of technology, helping them succeed in and beyond the classroom. We offer computer services around the school and promote technology through newsletters and events. Additionally, we support other school clubs like Programming, Engineering/Robotics, and Cybersecurity with fundraising for competitions and equipment. Our mission is to enhance technology usage across YMCI.

Description: Tech Crew is the audio-visual production team at York Mills Collegiate Institute. We provide lighting, sound, and video recording services for the student body, various clubs, and school events. Tech Crew and its members are dedicated to amplifying the voices of the school community and empowering them through the use of audio-visual technology. We work closely with students and clubs to ensure their events are successful.

Description: YMCI Mentoring was created with the intention to welcome incoming students with compassion and support in order to build a loving community in the school. In addition, this program thrives to acknowledge driven senior students, and build their leadership skills in order to inspire junior students to get involved in York Mills’ extracurriculars and growing opportunities. Keeping in mind core values of equity and consistent communication, YMCI Mentoring drives students to support their work etiquettes, critical thinking skills, and making positive personal and social choices.
