The school board is encouraging a Bring Your Own Device approach to devices. We recommend Chromebooks and will have some Chromebooks on site. If you do bring your own device, the TDSB is not able to be responsible for any damage or loss.
Our past inventory was distributed to families who needed devices last year during the emergency remote learning. Between the portion that was replaced and the additional Chromebooks we have since purchased, we are back up to approximately 60% of our previous inventory.
At the same time, families who are enrolled in virtual learning and require a device will contact us and we will loan a device from our current onsite inventory. This year, we encourage students in Grade 3-8, who are able, to bring their own device. This will keep sharing to a minimum. We also ask that families who are requesting computers for virtual learning ask due to genuine need.
