Description: This workshop allows teachers and students to use free applications that are available as TDSB Digital tools to create double exposure photographs and infographics. Students will create Culturally Responsive artwork, enabling them to share their stories and experiences through digital art.

Using The Chrome App Mindomo to Support Organization and Assessment in a Digital Environment

Target Audience: Grade 3-12
Description: Participants will explore how the Chrome app Mindomo can be meaningfully and appropriately implemented to support students in a digital environment. Mindomo gives students an opportunity to organize their thoughts in a variety of ways and allows for students to demonstrate what they know within these online digital graphic organizers. We will demonstrate the tools through a lens of Universal Design (UDL). Tools that will be covered: Adding Notes, Pictures, Sound Recordings, View As Outline and changing the program to accommodate French Language features.

We will also explore how the program can be used collaboratively amongst peers, staff and students.

Technology: Introduction to Using Google MyMaps in Junior-Intermediate Grades

INTRODUCTION TO USING GOOGLE MyMaps IN JUNIOR-INTERMEDIATE GRADES

Description: This session will teach the basics of how to use Google MyMaps in grades 4-8 to enhance cross-curricular learning. Basic tools and functions of the program will be highlighted, followed by an example of a collaborative classroom project that can be completed using the program.(e.g., mapping important locations/events and figures in Black Canadian History).
