(A "NEW" student refers to a Newcomer to the TDSB or an Ontario School)
Quads:
The school year at SCAS EdVance is divided into 4 quads (Quadmesters). A quad is approximately 9 weeks long and each course runs two hours long, Monday to Friday. Students are required to take a minimum of two (2) courses each quad. Quad 3 runs from January 30, 2026 to April 17, 2026.
Step one and two below occurs on an ongoing basis so that September Registration is faster for newcomers until June 20 and after August 25th..

STEP ONE: Sign up at SCAS for Registration during regular school hours
Required Documentation:
Registration for new students is ongoing. For registration, you will need to bring:
1. Original Immigration or Citizenship documents (PR card, passport, refugee documents)
2. Credit Summary or Transcript (if from Ontario)
4. Photo Identification
5. Two Proof of address:
One (1) document required from each category – refer to Appendix C of TDSB Procedure PR518 - Admission Eligibility Requirements (“PR518”)
Check one from Category A
Property Tax Bill / MPAC Notice of Assessment
Current mortgage statement, Rental / Lease Agreement, or deed
Agreement of Purchase and Sale, including proof of purchase provided before the pupil attends the school
Check one from Category B
CRA Income Tax Assessment (Most recent)
Utility Bill/e-Bill (water, hydro, gas, home phone/cable/internet, home/tenant/auto insurance)
Recent correspondence from a municipal, provincial or federal government agency
Other*:
*Other document must be listed as acceptable under Appendix C of PR518. Driver’s License, Health Card, Credit Card statement and cell phone bill are
not accepted.
STEP TWO: Assessments:
All newcomers will be required to do English and Math assessments at an offsite assessment centre before we are able to sign you up for classes. Once you have signed up with our school, we refer to the assessment centre. They will contact you by phone with the date and time of your assessment. This may take up to 2-3 weeks.
STEP THREE: Course Selection
After your assessment, we may contact you to return to SCAS Guidance for September Course Selection based on course availability in June or August. Unfortunately, we are very limited in our course offerings at this time.
A timetable will be provided on the first day of classes.
SCAS TIMETABLE STRUCTURE
PERIOD 1: 8:25AM – 10:25AM (FULLY IN-PERSON)
PERIOD 2: 10:35AM – 12:35PM (FULLY IN-PERSON)
PERIOD 3: 1:15PM – 3:15PM (FULLY IN-PERSON)
Classes are 2 hours in length, between 8:25 am and 3:15 pm everyday from Monday to Friday.
TDSB ACCOUNTS for New Students
Please note the following:
TDSB accounts will be activated 1-2 business days before the beginning of the quad
§ It takes 24 hours for TDSB accounts to be activated
§ Students may not be able to access on the first day, dependent upon their registration date
§ It is the student’s responsibility to check their TDSB account and email
Fees:
All students are asked to pay a $20.00 Student Activity Fee for the school year regardless of which quad you begin. Payment can be made in person on the first day of classes by cash or credit/debit.
