SBi4U Grade 12 Biology Culminating 2025
The curriculum requires that towards the end of the school year, students be given a culminating evaluation. The evaluation is worth 30% of the final mark.
Attendance and completion are compulsory. It is imperative that all students are present to complete all the necessary review in class in preparation for the exam. Failure to write the exam will result in a grade of zero (0) for the culminating. Extenuating circumstances will be dealt with confidentially with each student and their teacher. Absence due to illness must be supported by a doctor’s certificate and the student must make arrangements immediately with their science teacher.
Exam- 18%
This year, the culminating evaluation for SBI4U will consist of a final exam in June. The exam will contain the following topics: Biochemistry, Homeostasis, and Molecular Genetics. The exam will count toward 18% of your final mark.
The approximate mark break down form the exam is 38% Homeostasis, 27% Biochemistry, and 36% Molecular Genetics.

Students must show their teacher their study notes for the topics on the exam. Teacher will provide feedback and offer suggestions to ensure the students have a complete set of notes to study from. This portion of the culminating is worth 6%.

In addition there will be a review assignment that students will need to complete and independently and correct to earn the remaining 6% of the culminating grade. Review dates are In addition to the in class review, students will need to do extra preparation outside of class.
Note: Any student who misses the review classes and is unable to independently do the review assignment IN CLASS, will write a 30% final exam. All culminating prep must be done in class by the assigned date.
