Hi, the class is using the Portfolio program that is part of Brightspace (D2L). Students have two portfolios, this digital one and a folder in the classroom to collect hardcopies. To access Portfolio, there are two choices.
One, students and parents may download the app on a phone or device. Students use their QR code to login to their portfolio. QR codes will be inserted in each students credentials Doc which is in their Google Drive, shared with me area. This Doc is also available, in hardcopy, to students in the classroom.
Recommendation - create a shortcut of the Credentials Doc and put the shortcut in the student Drive. This will make it a little easier for students to find it.
Two, students may use the web. Login to Brightspace and go to your virtual class. Select the Funster (Gr. 3 students) app or Portfolio (Gr. 4 students) app you can find in the navigation bar at the top of the class homepage.

Dear parents/guardians and students,
This website is where you can find information about education, school and the classroom that is not posted in Brightspace Ms. Hall's Classroom, in the classroom brochure, the weekly class newsletter or in the Perth monthly e-newsletter, Perth Post. An effort is made to put relevant, current and meaningful information on this class website to help students and parents easily access information they need.
Please feel free to email Ms. Hall if you have can't find the information you are looking for here or on the Minister of Education curriculum website, the TDSB website or the other communication tools mentioned above. I am happy to help you find the information you are looking for, share it with you and add it to this forum. Below is the September back to school letter, emailed to families the first week of September.
Warm regards,
Ms. Hall
This information is useful to any students and families who use Brightspace. It was created two years ago, the first year of virtual schooling, to share information about the Brightspace virtual learning platform with students and families.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me at drop off, pick up or by email.
All students use Chromebooks, Surface Pro tablets or student HP laptops. We may also have some iPads this year. Read and Write is a language program that supports users in reading, writing, spelling, and research. All students are taught how to use Google Docs and Read and Write together. In addition Read and Write can be used on the internet such as with TVO Learn to read to users. Students and families are encouraged to learn to touch type. Good websites for instruction are Dance Mat Typing and Typing Club.
It is very helpful if parents / guardians are familiar with Read and Write program and encourage students to use it for research and language tasks. Please visit the Read and Write webpage on the TDSB Assistive Technology website for information about Read and Write and other technology programs available to students and families. There are tutorial videos (see the Read and Write webpage) on all the tools in Read and Write for students and families to watch to learn how to use the tools.
