STEM @ NACI
Welcome to the North Albion Collegiate Institute's Mathematics Department.
We, at North Albion Collegiate Institute follow the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Education regarding mathematics education.
Mathematics teachers at NACI incorporate a variety of teaching strategies and instructional approaches in lesson planning, to cater to individual students’ interests, learning preferences, and readiness to promote learning.
The goal of our department is to provide positive learning experiences to students and to make them ready for this fast-changing world. We encourage the use of digital resources in classrooms which increases the interest of students in their learning process. It also makes them self reliant and proficient in the use of latest technologies.
Our aim is to connect mathematics learning to real life experiences. We also collaborate to integrate global competencies in our lessons so that students attain the transferrable skills needed to be successful in modern world.
Our Grade 9 students this year are taking MTHW1 Mathematics course as part of Stem program along with Science and Technology course. Our students will learn to develop and apply their mathematical thinking through participation on Stem related projects.
