May: Canadian Landscapes

Learning about the artistry of Canadian Landscapes through the Ted Harrison and the Group of Seven Artists

Our goal is to create a landscape drawing inspired by one of these artists and to represent our work in Plasticine.

New: Over the past month, we have been learning about the art of Henri Matisse. We have focused on observing art through our personal lens and sharing our interpretations of his pieces with each other. We have also been making connections between his art as it developed over his life and how it changed as a reflection of what was going on in the world.

Now, we are creating Matisse inspired art-work, using his famous paper cut-out style. See the slideshow below for our inspiration!

Task: Create a theme-based color wheel! This will require a choosing symbols that will be painted with your hand-mixed paints! Chose either: 1. 1 symbol for primary colors, 1 for secondary colors and 1 symbol for tertiary colors OR 2. 12 unique symbols that relate to your theme.
