Think of some adjectives (Picture words) to use in your story. I included some words to get you started.
Using your picture words, try to write a short story.
Tips for Parents
Ask your child to write in his/her first language, and then ask him/her to write another copy in English. You may need to help your child with this (e.g., ask him/her to read a few sentences in their first language, and then help your child translate it with Google Translate).
Ask your child to tell you a story in English first. Record your child on your mobile phone. Your child can listen to himself/herself tell the story as he/she writes it. This is a great way to improve your child's oral language too!
Ask your child to use Google Translate if he/she can't think of a word in English.
Ask your child to jot down English words that he/she uses a lot, but have a hard time spelling. You can use the Word Wall that I included below.
