For this activity, print the two sheets below. On a dry erase board, or a piece of paper, write a word. Ask your child to use that word in a sentence. Encourage him/her to use the sentence starters below. When saying a sentence, ask your child to use a connecting word to make a longer sentence (e.g., I went to the store and I bought an apple.) Remind them to use the, a, an, it, is, to and on in their sentences (e.g., I saw a cat jump over the fence.) After saying the sentence, encourage your child to write it. Focus on grammar (e.g., past/present tense).
