• Central Student Interest Program Online Application is available (November 7, 2022)

• Deadline to submit the Central Student Interest Program Online Application (November 25, 2022)

• Attend your Elementary School Transition Event (if applicable)

• Attend the Secondary School Virtual Open Houses and Information Nights

• Research Secondary Central Programs and Schools, Alternative Schools and Local Programs in the TDSB

• Review the Beyond 8 - Grade 8 to 9 Transitions Resources

• Students with special education needs for whom a change in setting or program is being considered for grade 9 should be discussed at the School Support Team (SST) meeting (this meeting will occur with the parent(s)/guardian(s) and the SST)

• Grade 8 to 9 Annual Reviews for all students with an Exceptionality (e.g., regular class or special education class)

  • Secondary Student Transition Planning

• Offers for grade 9 ISP programs will begin (e.g., congregated and integrated sites) (last week of January 2023)

• Students wishing to attend a school other than their designated school by address; Out-of-Area Online Applications are available (January 9, 2023)

• Out-of-Area Online Applications are due (January 27, 2023)

• Grade 8 Course Selection Opens for all students via myBlueprint (February 4, 2023)

  • Deadline for parents/guardians of students to be informed of the status of the Out-of-Area Application (February 8, 2023)

  • Deadline for families to confirm acceptance of the Out-of-Area offer (February 14, 2023)

  • Deadline for parents/guardians of students to be informed of the status of the Out-of-Area Application (February 15, 2023)

• Students must finalize their destination for secondary school (designated school by address, Central Program, Alternative School, Out-of-Area Admission) by completing and submitting the corresponding course selection for the accepted school in myBlueprint (February 27, 2023)

F.A.Q.

1.         How do students know if they need to apply for Out-Of-Area Admissions?

On the www.tdsb.on.ca homepage families can click on the Find Your School icon at the top and can use their address to determine their home school.  If Monarch Park Collegiate is not listed, then the student must apply for Out-Of-Area Admissions.

2.            How do students submit their Out-Of-Area Admissions form?

To apply to attend a school other than your designated school by address, please submit an online application. When applying for September 2023, applicants may submit up to two (2) applications. The online application will be available on January 9, 2023.

3.            How are students selected for Out-Of-Area Admissions?

Priority of placement in the requested school will be based on a lottery if applications exceed the space available at the requested school. Students who have siblings already in the requested school and expected to be in the school for the next school year are subject to priority placement.
