WHO WE ARE

Student Activity Council (or SAC), is a group of student leaders, supervised by a teacher advisor. Our meetings are held every Monday after school. The council is currently comprised of 16 positions: 4 elected positions and 12 selected positions. The elected positions are elected by the student body, at the end of the previous school year for the upcoming school year. The selected positions are elected by an application process at the beginning of each semester.

Our goal is to make Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute a great place where students want to be.  We attempt to do this by holding major events in school, such as dances, clubs fairs, spirit weeks, and much, much more!  We aim to unify the student body by strengthening our school spirit. In order to achieve this, we promote and encourage all students to regularly participate in all school events.

As Student Council, we try to ensure that all students have a voice in their school by communicating their voices to the school administrators and staff. In doing so, we strive to improve the quality of education for all students.
