For as long as I can remember, I have been an "early-adopter" of technology; whether it be the Commodore 64, digital projectors or Google G-Suite, I have always wanted to learn and explore these technologies for my own interest. As a DLL Member and Mentor, I am assisting other teachers in Learning Network 22 in promoting technology-enhanced and technology-enabled learning in our classrooms. I was fortunate to be part of the UofT Varsity Blues Women's Field Lacrosse team during the 1998-2003 seasons. I loved playing the sport of lacrosse, especially at a high level of competition. 17 years later, now as a full-time PhD student, I had the opportunity to don the uniform once again. For the last two years, I have played in the Ontario Universities Association Field Lacrosse league - perhaps as one of the oldest student-athletes on a team roster. It is a thrill to be back on the field.
I completed a Master of Education at OISE/UT in 2009. I have always been very interested in learning more about physics/science education throughout my teaching career. I am currently in my 6th year of the Doctoral degree program at OISE/UT focusing on physics education.
