Habitats  Assignment

1. Choose a habitat around the world - examples include Grassland, Desert, Ocean, Tundra, Jungle, Boreal Forest, Caves etc.

2. Describe at least 5 specific physical features of the habitat - this means things like plants growing there, landscape, temperature and weather etc.

3. Identify at least one five member food chain in that particular habitat

4. Do one of the following: 

• Show how plants and animals depend on each other in that habitat environment 

• Clearly show how the plants and animals use the physical features of the habitat to survive and thrive

5. Choose one animal that lives in the habitat and describe how it lives. What does it eat and is it food for another animal? How does it interact with its habitat?

6. Include 2 references - one book and one website - the library here has great books on habitats and animals!

If you work in pairs you must do twice the work. 2 pages and 4

minutes of speaking.

Your project can be creative! Feel free to make a model or write a story from the perspective of a member of the habitat. 

Make sure to include writing that answers the questions above.
