Ensembles are an integral part of Humberside's music community! They allow for students to meet other students and create music as a group! We have a variety of music ensembles at HCI that consist of beginner to experienced students!
Humberside Harmonizers is an open vocal-ensemble from beginners to experienced singers! No audition is required. Singers create and build community by eating lunch together, then having rehearsals after. The ensemble sings a variety of songs that encompasses different themes, genres, styles etc. Songs performed include Carol of the Bells, Mad World, Seasons of Love, Stand By Me and more! Performances occur throughout the school year. Some examples include: Remembrance Day Assembly, Winter Concert, Spring Concert, Commencement!

Humberside’s Strings Ensemble is open for students who are strings player whether in the music program. The ensemble is set for beginner to advanced players from Violins, Violas, Cellos and Double Bass. The ensemble will be playing different pieces by different composers. Performances include assemblies, Winter Concert, Spring Concert and Commencement! Pieces include Chronicles of Narnia Soundtrack.

Humberside’s Symphonic Band is an ensemble aimed at grade 9 students, but is welcoming to all students interested in furthering their musical progress. No audition is required for this ensemble. Students rehearse once a week after school to build upon skills they’ve learned in class and learn new techniques, elements, and facets of music. This ensemble performs twice a year: once for the Winter Concert and once for the Spring Concert.
