In 2026, seven GreenwoodSS students earned awards in the Canadian Innovation Math Contest (CIMC). This year’s outstanding results included two Gold Medalists, two Silver Medalists, and three Honour Medalists.

The CIMC is an international mathematics competition that challenges students to solve as many problems as possible within 75 minutes. The contest assesses a wide range of skills, including mental mathematics, logical reasoning, problem-solving, abstract thinking, and spatial reasoning.

In recognition of their exceptional achievements, the students were presented with medals and certificates.

The International Day of Mathematics was celebrated on March 14, 2026. At Greenwood SS both staff and students marked the occasion by enjoying a variety of math-related activities, including games, puzzles, and exploring career paths that involve mathematics.

The math questions include mental math concepts, reasoning, problem solving, abstract and spatial thinking questions. The students were awarded with medals and certificates for their special achievements.  

The International Day of Mathematics was celebrated on March 14, 2025. At Greenwood SS, staff and students came together to enjoy all things math by playing engaging math games, solving puzzles, and creating art together.
