The International Day of Mathematics was celebrated on March 14, 2026. At Greenwood SS both staff and students marked the occasion by enjoying a variety of math-related activities, including games, puzzles, and exploring career paths that involve mathematics.
In 2025, seven GreenwoodSS students were winners of the CIMC, Canadian Innovation Math contest. CIMC is a Math competition where students around the world answer as many math questions as they can in 75 minutes. The math questions include mental math concepts, reasoning, problem solving, abstract and spatial thinking questions. The students were awarded with medals and certificates for their special achievements.

Extra math help is available from individual math teachers, during lunchtime and after school. Students are encourage to ask their math teachers for extra math support.
