GRADE 11 ACCOUNTING
CAREERS IN ACCOUNTING - SLIDESHOW REPORT
INTRODUCTION
For this assignment, you will either work alone or in pairs in order to prepare an 8-10 slide Google Slides slideshow in which you will describe one of the 17 accounting-related professions described below as it relates to the current Canadian workplace.
You will then submit your assignment via Brightspace Assignments by copying and pasting a link to your slideshow and please ensure you allow editing privileges of your slideshow to any TDSB member.
You must summarize all of your research results in your own words.
Your report may be written using complete grammatically-correct sentences or bullet points (point-form) or both. Please note that you should include all of the information you wish to convey in your slides as you will not be delivering your report orally.
Your slideshow may also contain any relevant imagery, charts and/or tables to illustate your information.
CONTENT
At a minimum, your slideshow must include the following:
1. A title slide featuring your full name(s) and chosen accounting career.
2. A second slide featuring a table of contents listing the various elements of your slideshow.
3. Additional slides detailing the specific career-related information described below.
4. A one-paragraph personal analysis as to whether or not you personally believe you are well-suited to your chosen career topic and why. *
5. A final slide containing an MLA Works Cited List (easybib, citation machine) detailing all online sources (text and imagery) consulted in your research.
* Please note that if you choose to work in pairs, each one of you must submit your own personal analysis. Each partner must also submit his/her own assignment via Brightspace Assignments. Furthermore, your mark will be a shared mark other than your individual personal analysis submission.
The following career-related information must appear in your slideshow with respect to your chosen accounting profession in relation to the current Canadian workplace:
job description (general job duties and responsibilities)
job requirements (formal education, work experience, certifications and licenses necessary to perform job, hard skills such as computer skills and languages, soft skills such as teamwork and organization)
present-day and future employment opportunities (career prospect studies, career opportunity statistics) including at least one example of current job posting from online job site like indeed.com
average salary range (high-low) at entry-level, mid-level and senior-level positions
career pros/advantages/benefits and cons/disadvantages/drawbacks
any other relevant information you wish to include
