Student Events at Frank Oke / Haney Centre
Our community comes together for many events during the school year. We celebrate:
Annual School Events such as Welcome-back-to-school Day, Year End Fun Fair, Prom, Grad Tea, and Graduation
Cultural Celebrations including Diwali, African Heritage Month, Asian Heritage Month, Indigenous History Month, Indigenous Education Month, Pride, Winter Holidays, and Halloween
Days of Inspiration and Reflection such as Remembrance Day, Terry Fox, Orange Shirt Day, Pink Shirt Day, Movember, Student Recognition Assemblies
Fun Days provides a chance for students to participate in extracurricular activities during the school day. Activities include Arts and Crafts, Music, Dance, Karaoke, Cooking, Lego, Board Games, Bingo/UNO, and Sports.
Tournament Days happen once a month. This is when our Frank Oke and Haney Centre students demonstrate their athletic skills, playing each other in soccer, basketball, floor hockey and other sports.
Special Olympics is an event where Frank Oke and Haney Centre students have the opportunity to play in tournaments with other schools.
