Care and Treatment Education Program (CTEP) intake is managed by the agencies, treatment centres and hospitals providing the medical and/or mental health services and is either through Help Ahead or direct referral by medical practicioners.
Families and/or children and youth can call help ahead, speak to thier family physician or another medical provider or speak to their school principal about the referral process.
Help Ahead is for anyone under 18 looking for mental health and well-being services in Toronto, or for anyone looking to support a child or youth aged 0-18 and their family in accessing local services or programs.
Anyone under the age of 18 looking for mental health services or anyone who wants to support someone under the age of 18 can call 1-866-585-6486. This includes young people, a custodial parent or guardian who wants to be connected to a community-based mental health service serving infants, children, youth and families.
Healthcare, education professionals and service providers can also call us to learn about services in the community. However, we cannot proceed with a referral without speaking to or getting consent from a custodial parent, guardian or youth 12 years and over.
