**NEW** Starting in 2026, students taking Grade 10 Career Studies will complete a digital financial literacy test to fulfill their graduation requirement, with retake options available until they pass.
If you entered grade 9 in 2024 or later, to earn a high school diploma in Ontario, you must:
earn 17 compulsory credits
earn 13 optional credits
pass the literacy requirement
earn at least two online learning credits (or opt out of requirement)
complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement activities
