As part of CTA's Sports SHSM program, you will gain valuable certifications in the areas of Sports Leadership, Rock Climbing, First Aid and CPR, Sports Physiotherapy Taping, and many others.
Students will also have the opportunity to take part in activities such as exploring careers in sport, getting behind the scenes tours with teams like the Argos and Sceptres, attending sporting events, and health and nutrition training.

Our program includes mandatory certifications and exclusive field trips designed to give students a competitive edge and direct insight into the sports industry.

First Aid & CPR Training
Standard First Aid & CPR-C
A dedicated one-day training session to certify all students in life-saving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, a crucial credential for all sports-related careers.
Climbing Certification
'Learn to Belay' Certificate
Students will travel to Boulderz Climbing Gym to complete the foundational training required to safely belay a climbing partner. This activity develops safety, communication, and risk management skills.

Tour of the College of Sports Media (CSM)
Sports Broadcasting & Media
A behind-the-scenes look at the dynamic world of sports journalism, broadcasting, and content creation. Students will tour the facilities and meet with instructors and current students.
Professional Sports Management
Exclusive trips to facilities owned and operated by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) (owners of the Raptors, Maple Leafs, TFC, etc.). These trips may include tours of Scotiabank Arena or other training facilities, focusing on venue operations, marketing, and business management.
