BCI Math Contests 2023 - 2024

All BCI students can write math and computer science contests (depending on eligibility). Sign up using one of the forms bellow  by the registration deadline. Then you will have approximately one week following the deadline to pay for the contest using school cash online.  School cash online will only be available after the deadline. For any further inquiries and financial assistance, see Mr. Banjevic in the math office (rm 401).

COMC - Registration is now closed.

The Canadian Open Math Challenge(COMC) is Canada's premier math competition and is open to any student with an interest in and grasp of high school math. The purpose of the COMC is to encourage students to explore, discover, and learn more about mathematics and problem solving.  It may be written in school, or virtually with supervision.

The 2023 COMC will be held on Thursday, October 26 in Canada and is 2.5h in length.  It will be written in the cafeteria from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

Register here , making sure that you are logged in with your TDSB email. Registration is due October 2. Payment is due by October 9.

CIMC - Registration is now closed.

Grades 9 & 10

Created by the University of Waterloo the Canadian Intermediate Math Contest(CIMC) is designed to give students in grades 9 & 10 the opportunity to have fun and to develop their mathematical problem solving ability. 

This contest will be held Nov. 15 and is 2h in lengthIt will be written in the cafeteria from  9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The cost is $18.

Register here , making sure that you are logged in with your TDSB email address. Registration is due October 10. Payment is due by October 17.

CSMC - Registration is now closed.

Grades 11 & 12

Created by the University of Waterloo the Canadian Senior Math Contest(CSMC) is designed to give students in grades  11 & 12 the opportunity to have fun and to develop their mathematical problem solving ability. 

This contest will be held Nov. 15 and is 2h in lengthIt will be written in the cafeteria from  9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The cost is $18.

University of Waterloo Winter/Spring Contests

Pascal Contest  | Grade 9 (closed)

Students in Grade 9 or below are eligible to write the Pascal Contest.  

Cayley Contest  | Grade 10 (closed)

Students in Grade 10 or below are eligible to write this contest.   

Fermat Contest  | Grade 11 (closed)

Students in Grade 11 or below are eligible to write this contest.  

The Pascal, Cayley and Fermat contests will be written on Feb. 28, 2024. The contests are one hour in length and will be written in the cafeteria from 8:40 AM to 9:40 AM. A student may only write one of the contests. 

The Deadline to register is Jan 29, 2024. To do so, please use your student tdsb email, and fill out this registration form. The cost is $8. Payment by School Cash online will be due by Feb 6, and can only be submitted after the Jan 29 registration deadline.

Euclid Contest | Grade 12 (OPEN)

The Euclid contest will be written on April 3, 2024 at 8:45 AM in the cafeteria. Students in Grade 12 or below are eligible to write this contest. It is written on paper. The contest will last 2.5 hrs.  

The Deadline to register is Feb 25, 2024. To do so, please use your student tdsb email, and fill out this registration form. The cost is $20. Payment via school cash online will be due on Mar 4, and can only be submitted after the Feb 25 deadline.

Fryer (Grade 9)/Galois (Grade 10)/Hypatia (Grade 11) OPEN

The Fryer, Galois and Hypatia (FGH) Contests are a unique opportunity for participants to write a full-solution contest — a format that can help learners develop both problem-solving and communication skills. These fun and engaging contests encourage critical thinking as participants tackle problems that build to a larger, more complex task to solve in each question. They will take place on April 4, 2024, at 2 PM in the cafeteria.  The contest is 75 min in length.

The deadline to register is Feb 25, 2024. To do so, please use your student tdsb email and fill out this registration form. The cost is $15. Payment via school cash online will be due on Mar 4, and can only be submitted after the Feb 25 deadline.
