We are introducing Music Uniforms for all of our ensembles this year. It is a polo shirt with the York Mills C.I. music crest with the option of having your child's name and/or instrument on the sleeve for an additional cost. We are using the company Artik.

The shirt is $28, and with the optional sleeve print, it is $37.

School Cash Online links will be available here once they are ready. 

Students are in the process of inputting their size and what they would like on the sleeve.

Grades 10-12 Band students will be attending an open rehearsal to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra's open dress rehearsal where they will be rehearsing:

Students are to make their own way to Roy Thomson Hall by 9:15 am where we will all go together to attend the rehearsal. They can take TTC or be driven by a trusted adult.

All Symphonic Band and Chamber Strings members are going to be performing for parents and prospective students of York Mills C.I. 

Symphonic Band will have their weekly after school rehearsal moved to Tuesday that week instead of Wednesday. Then we will set up the stage at 6 and perform from 6:30-7:00 pm.

Chamber Strings will perform in the front foyer from 6-8:30 pm., with a break from 7:00-7:30 pm for the presentation in the cafeteria by the administration. 

Vaughan SantaFest Parade - Sunday November 29, 2026 - 9:30 am-1:00 pm

Etobicoke Santa Claus Parade - Saturday December 5th, 2026 8:30 am-12:00 pm

Our band students will be participating in 2 parades this year. They already have the music and are working on memorizing the material. There will be permission forms that will go out to parents/guardians and a detailed letter with exact drop-offs and pick-ups will become available closer to the date. 

Our annual Winter Music Night is on Monday December 7, 2026 at 7:00 pm. Our students are working on on preparing all their pieces and are excited to perform. The Symphonic and Concert Band will be performing along with our Strings ensembles, piano soloist and Flute Choir. 

Tickets are $10, $5 for students, and children under 12 are free.

All proceeds of this night go towards new instruments, new music and ensuring that all music students at York Mills have an equal opportunity to be involved in all of our events.
