Hydrosols are also known as "flower waters". They are produced by distilling fresh leaves, fruits, flowers, and other plant materials.
These aromatic waters contain similar properties to essential oils. Their aromas are often soft and subtle when compared to their essential oil counterpart.

Products made from hydrosols usually have a similar scent to the essential oil, but they have a greener note. This comes from the water-soluble components in the plant material that are not present in the essential oil.
They can be used as a water substitute for any product and be used in their pure form as a mist spray, tonic, or medicine.
